Optimize Knowledge Between Asset Management, Enterprise Content and Process Management.
Most asset intensive organizations have inadequate document and asset management systems. These systems are frequently silos within operations or engineering departments. However, input from multiple departments is necessary to supply the knowledge workers with information that's necessary to perform crucial jobs. An integrated IBM FileNet P8 and IBM Maximo® solution will bridge the gap between silos in operations, maintenance and engineering, resulting in trusted content, optimized processes and ensured corporate compliance.
As the workforce ages, document capture, retrieval and retention has become critical. Increasing competitive and regulatory compliance pressures are demanding more management control and visibility. Organizations require:
• Assurance that the most appropriate procedures, manuals, or drawings are being leveraged.
• Reporting, auditing and visibility must span entire organizations.
• Records management and process controls are required enterprise wide.
Integrated solution value leverages investment in "Best of Breed" software:
• Tivoli Maximo controls the work processes and structured asset data.
• FileNet P8 controls the unstructured operations, content and corporate records processes.
Bridge and federate silo's of information stacks.
• Streamline the process linking between systems.
• Provide access to data and content from correct source.

The integration provides the following functionality:
• Synchronize FileNet P8 document repository with the Maximo attachment library.
• Search FileNet P8 repository for a specific document version and return a reference to the Maximo record.
• Ability to add new documents using Maximo, have them stored in FileNet and linked in Maximo.
• The Maximo Integration Framework web service is used to expose the DOCINFO and DOCLINKS objects.
