SSAS Datasource connection using External namespace authentication: Premature end of file

Troubleshooting


Problem

Errors occur after setting up datasource to use External namespace authentication. Testing datasource is successful for DQM. Reporting Unable to parse the data source signon: Error on line -1 of document : Premature end of file. Nested exception: Premature end of file. CAF-WRN-2082 An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with SecureErrorID Dashboarding The metadata for '' did not load. Please contact your administrator for details. When switching authentication to common signon, no issue is experienced.

Cause

SSO is configured using the advanced setting singleSignonOption = IdentityMapping in Cognos Configuration.

This causes SSO to not use Kerberos which is needed for External Namespace Authentication,

Resolving The Problem

Go to Cognos Configuration > Security > Authentication > Select namespace > edit Advanced settings and remove the advanced setting "singleSignonOption = IdentityMapping"
