Problem

Why can't a diagram like an object model diagram, be modified, and why is the drawing icon toolbar grayed out in Rational Rhapsody?

Symptom

A diagram cannot be modified and the drawing icon toolbar is grayed out. In the Rhapsody browser this diagram has no (RO) flag.

In the title bar of Rational Rhapsody is shown:

Cause

For that diagram, the custom view mode was enabled which means that some elements are hidden from display by a filter setting.

In Custom View mode the modification of diagrams is not allowed in general.

Diagnosing The Problem

Diagram Custom View is enabled.

Resolving The Problem

1. Disable custom view mode by right-clicking in the diagram.

2. In the context menu, select "Custom View..." to enable the configuration window.

3. unselect the custom view mode
