What to know when saving a model in IBM Rational Rhapsody with "Save As" that contains a Gateway configuration

Question & Answer

Question

What should I take into account when saving a model in IBM Rational Rhapsody with "Save As" into a new folder or under a new project name, when this project contains a Gateway configuration (.rqtf and.rqtfimage files)?

Answer

Gateway configuration files are contained in the Rhapsody model as Controlled Files. Their content is not touched and updated to the new project name and file structure when saving the Rhapsody model with "Save As".

As the Gateway configuration files can contain absolute paths, it can happen that there are conflicts with the original project when opening Gateway.

It is strongly recommended to check the configuration in Gateway before doing any synchronization or export operation.

To be absolutely safe and to avoid any conflicts, you can delete the.rqtf and .rqtfimage file from the Rhapsody project (within Rhapsody) and afterward on file level.

Then, create a new Gateway configuration by launching Rhapsody Gateway.
