Creating new report using a Theme results in unspported version error.

Troubleshooting


Problem

When creating a new report in Cognos Analytics, user selects Thems from the Templastes and themes page and then clicks on any Theme resuling in the error described under Symptom section below.

Symptom

The report version "http://developer.cognos.com/schemas/report/13.3/"; is not supported. Expected report version "http://developer.cognos.com/schemas/report/14.0/";.

Or, more generically,

The report version "http://developer.cognos.com/schemas/report/xx.x/"; is not supported. Expected report version "http://developer.cognos.com/schemas/report/yy.y/";.

Resolving The Problem

Launch Cognos Administration Console and choose Configuration > Content Administration. Import the Templates and choose the option "Upgrade all report specifications to the latest version" on the last dialog of the New Import dialog.

After importing and upgrading the templates, users will now be able to create reports using Themes.
