Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Liberty Profile * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: File URLs contain incorrect number of * * '/' characters * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** File URLs may have an incorrect number of '/' characters after 'file:' due to the ProtectionDomain constructed in DeployedAppInfoBase.getProtectionDomain() method not checking the location path of the object prior to prepending file:// to the location path as part of the URL for the Codesource of the ProtectionDomain. This can lead to unexpected locations being returned and causing issues such as: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: URI has an authority component when using the CodeSource to obtain and use the URL location or FTP invocations being attempted when performing Cipher construction
Problem conclusion
DeployedAppInfoBase.getProtectionDomain() has been modified to take into account the number of leading '/' characters returned from the WsResource object's res.asFile().getAbsolutePath(); adjusting as necessary; before prepending file:// on the URL for the codesource of the ProtectionDomain. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.9.
