Error description
After adding or configuring additional content to the server (like installing a new feature or changing configured features in the server.xml), you may encounter exceptions related to resolving feature modules and bundles. This may occur if you have WebSphere Liberty profile installed in a path using "unsafe" characters, such as a space.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Liberty Profile * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Errors after adding or configuring * * additional content to a server when the * * server installation path contains * * "unsafe" characters. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** After adding or configuring additional content to the server (for example, installing a new feature or changing configured features in the server.xml), you may encounter exceptions related to resolving feature modules and bundles. This may occur if you have WebSphere Liberty profile installed in a path using "unsafe" characters, such as a space. Unsafe characters are defined in RFC1738 ( http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1738.txt ). Some examples of errors that can be observed in the console log file are: [ERROR ] CWWKF0002E: A bundle could not be found for com.ibm.ws... or [ERROR ] CWWKE0702E: Could not resolve module: com.ibm.ws... The exact bundle or module name is dependent on which content was added and/or configured in the server. The problem can be resolved by restarting the server using the "--clean" option.
Problem conclusion
Code has been corrected to properly handle using the unsafe characters. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.8. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
Temporary fix
Restart the server with "--clean" option.
