Troubleshooting
Problem
Linking a Vizualization to a control in an Active Report shows categories on the edges that have no data. For example in the Samples packages there's no Q4 in 2013. However if 2013 is selected from a dropdown a clustered bar Vizualization in the report will show an empty bar for Q4.
Symptom
Nulls on the edge
Cause
Filtered Data property not set
Resolving The Problem
Select the Axis you wish to change the setting for. In the Properties pane, set the Category Range property to Filtered Data.
Now the report when executed should not show the blank categories on the Axis
