Are Guardium S-TAPs compatible with an earlier version? For example, will a v10 S-TAP work with a v11.x collector?
Answer
The Guardium S-TAP is compatible with an earlier version by one version, so v10 S-TAPs are compatible with v11 Collectors.
However:
- if your Collector is v11 - then the v11 S-TAP is generally the best option.
- if your Collector is v10 - then the v10 S-TAP is generally the best option.
While the Collector/ STAP versions can be mixed, the older version may not handle any new features - hence it is best to keep the Collector / S-TAP versions as close and up to date as possible.
- if your Collector is v11 - then the v11 S-TAP is generally the best option.

STAP v11.1.0.11_r109779 -> Collector v10.0p4050 (NOTE- any Sniffer below p4050 has issues)
