PAW Oracle VM 'Aborted' when user logs off of host machine

Troubleshooting

Problem

The PAW web server is installed on Windows. If the user of this host machine logs off, the PAW VM installed under Docker goes into an 'aborted' state. Subsequent attempts to restart the PAW VM may fail and the VM needs reinstalling to resume it.

Cause

The Docker Oracle VM service was installed against a user account. When that user logs off the result in unpredictable.

Resolving The Problem

Workaround

Run the Oracle VM it as a service instead of under a user account.
This can be done using for example VBoxVmService which is a Windows application that allows you to run Oracle's VirtualBox VMs from within a native Windows service entity.
