IBM Support

IBM Rational DOORS OSLC links to module views fail on client computer running Internet Explorer 10 or earlier

Troubleshooting

Problem

When creating OSLC links from an IBM Rational DOORS client to Rational DOORS Web Access, links to module views fail if the client computer is running Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 or earlier.

Environment

Rational DOORS and Rational DOORS Web Access version 9.6.1.7

Rational DOORS client computer is running Internet Explorer version 10 or earlier

Diagnosing The Problem

To reproduce this problem:

  1. Create two separate Rational DOORS projects (A and B) in two separate databases.
  2. Configure both projects for OSLC linking to each other.
  3. Use the Rational DOORS client for Windows to open an object in project A.
  4. Try to link from the object in project A to a module view in project B through the Rational DOORS Web Access instance for that project B.

Result: The link fails.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the problem, upgrade Internet Explorer to version 11 or later on the client computer, or create the link in Rational DOORS Web Access for project A to the module view in Rational DOORS Web Access for project B.
