IBM Rational DOORS DXL attribute is not exporting with formatting in Microsoft Excel

Troubleshooting

Problem

Using displayRichWithColourstringOf(res) function does not have correct formatting after exporting to Microsoft Excel

Diagnosing The Problem

On ‘Edit Layout DXL’ window, replace displayRichWithColourstringOf(res) with displayRichWithColour stringOf(res)" \t" and click on OK

  • If data contains "onetwo", Microsoft Excel considers it as Text datatype and formats the cell to support ‘strikethrough’, ‘underline’ and ‘Normal font’
  • If data contains "01", Microsoft Excel considers it as Number datatype and formats the cell to support only ‘strikethrough’

Resolving The Problem

As a workaround append " \t" at the end of "01", so Microsoft Excel considers it as Text datatype and formats the cell properly with rich text formatting.
