IBM Support

Property CG::Operation::Animate and the effect on animation in IBM Rhapsody

Question & Answer

Question

Why is the IBM Rhapsody property CG::Operation::Animate not having an effect on the animation of an operation?

Cause

The property CG::Operation::Animate is not having an effect on the animation of an operation. Apparently Rhapsody does NOT produce NOTIFY_OPERATION code for the operation.

Answer

The Animate property is a part of mechanism, which is called partial animation. This feature allows users to switch off animation of some parts of class (like operation, attributes, arguments of operation). It was implemented for the C++ language and allowed in the Rhapsody for Developer edition only.
It is not supported in the Rhapsody for System Designer or Rhapsody Architect editions.
