Troubleshooting


Problem

The Engine log shows that it cannot start the RuleService which is keeping the Engine from running.

Symptom

INFO SCCEngine - An error occurred while starting the engine ...
CCTR023E Start Service failed.
CSVC001E Initialization failed.
CCTR027E Error Starting Services.
CCTR014E Error while loading services.
CCTR008E Service Create failed.
CCTR007E Error creating Service. Service ID: RuleService,     
INFO SCCEngine - java.lang.NoSuchMethodError

Cause

Duplicate jar files are present in the thirdparty directory.

<install>/lib/thirdparty/slf4j-api-1.5.2.jar
<install>/lib/thirdparty/slf4j-log4j12-1.5.2.jar
<install>/lib/thirdparty/slf4j-api-1.7.5.jar
<install>/lib/thirdparty/slf4j-log4j12-1.7.5.jar    

Diagnosing The Problem

Review errors in Engine log and check directory for old jars

Resolving The Problem

Delete the old 1.5.2 jars from the directory
