How can I generate dependency in makefile for an external file in IBM Rational Rhapsody?

Cause

You would like the dependency to be generated as a part of the makefile

Answer

Apply the steps below in order to achieve the requirement:

  1. Add the external file to the component
  2. Select the type of the file as others
  3. Give the path for the file
  4. Add class to the package
  5. Go to view-> browser display option-> Show source artifacts
  6. Add new source artifacts to the class.
  7. Add dependency to the sourceartifacts for the external file and set the stereotype as usage.
  8. Generate the code and check in the makefile for the external file dependency would be added.
