Problem
Attempts to launch Application Configurator in IBM Sterling Order Management fails with error ClassNotFoundException.
Cause
This problem is mostly seen due to mismatch in the JRE version being used by the browser.
Diagnosing The Problem
The Application Configurator doesn’t launch even after the JRE has been installed on windows machine
Resolving The Problem
Steps to Resolve:
- Open control panel and click on Java icon. If you're not able to see any Java icon here, then that means you don't have any JRE installed. In that case goto Step 4 , else click on this icon to open Java Control Panel.
- Under the Java tab, click on View to open Java Runtime Environment Settings.
- Verify the versions of Java appearing here. If you see multiple entries, enable the one which seems to be the right version. If you don't see any entry here and you still believe you've JRE installed in your machine somewhere, then try to manually add an entry here with path in the below specified format - <JAVA_INSTALL_DIR>jre/bin/javaw.exe
- Click on Ok and then Apply. Restart your browser and try launching configurator.
If you see any certificate error, try clearing all the previous security certificates under Java control panel > Security > Manage Certificates.
If none of these help, goto Step 5.
- Remove all the installed JREs on your machine. If required, restart your machine.
- Open IE browser in 32-bit mode and try launching configurator. It would ask you to install a JRE. Follow the instructions to install the recommended JRE and once done verify the installation.
- If required, restart your machine and launch your IE browser in 32-bit mode and try launching the configurator. You should hopefully be able to launch
