How do you configure different Item Classification under Sourcing Rule in IBM Sterling Sellling and Fulfillment Suite?
Cause
You want to use different sourcing rules based on different item classifications.
Answer
In order to make use of sourcing rules based on item classification, its necessary to bind each Classification Definition with a Classification Purpose and then add values for each Associated Item attribute as described below :
To Create Item Classification,
- Go to Application Manager - Catalog management-Classifications -Classification Definition.
- Create a new Item Classification here.
- Mention all the classification details and select the item attribute for which you are creating the classification and Save it.
- Go to Application Manager - Catalog management - Classifications - Classification Purposes tab.
- Select Sourcing from the Purpose Description dropdown.
- Bind the Item Classification created as in point#2 from the Classification Definition To Bind dropdown and Save it.
Now each Classification created is bound to the Classification Purposes.
- To add classification values, Go to Application Manager - Catalog management-Classifications - Classification Hierarchy for each Classification Purpose (appearing in tabs) defined above.
- Finally once classification set up is done, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Classification types should be configured as appropriate, under Item Classification Field. Here within Distributed Order Management - Cross Application - Order Promising - Sourcing and Scheduling - Products being shipped - Sourcing rules.
