IBM Support

Refactoring or Moving of Internal Block Diagram results in failure in Rational Rhapsody

Troubleshooting

Problem

Attempts to refactor (rename) or move Internal Block Diagram (IBD) to different package structure results in no success in IBM Rational Rhapsody

Symptom

You are unable to rename or move the IBD

Cause

This is the designed behavior of Internal Block diagram as per SysML standards

Resolving The Problem

The Internal Block Diagram or IBD provides the white box or internal view of a system block, and is usually instantiated from the Block Definition Diagram (BDD) to represent the final assembly of all blocks within the main system block. Hence they are tightly coupled with their owning Block or BDD.
