Problem
Attempts to perform modifying, repairing, or removing IBM Rational Rhapsody from setup.exe result in InstallShield wizard hangs and not responding for excessively long time.
Symptom
Window of setup.exe remains not responsible after 15 minutes of waiting:
Cause
Performing modifying, repairing, or removing Rational Rhapsody as instructed Knowledge Center (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSB2MU_8.1.1/com.ibm.rhp.installing.doc/topics/rhp_t_iu_modifying_repring_remving_rhp.html?lang=en) will cause setup.exe to hang.

Resolving The Problem
The described phenomenon is a known issue. Take one of following actions.
- Perform modifying, repairing, or removing (uninstall) the product from Microsoft Windows Add or Remove Programs feature, then you will be prompted with a progress bar.
- When Repair & Uninstall are invoked from setup.exe, it doesn't show the progress bar nor "please wait..." message, thus it appears to many users as if setup.exe hangs up. Wait longer up to 20 minutes, you will be proceeded to the next stage.
