Troubleshooting


Problem

You are testing a DataSource connection to a DB2 database in InfoSphere Guardium and it fails with error: java.net.ConnectException: Error opening socket to server on port with message: connection refused. ERRORCODE=-4499, SQLSTATE=08001

Symptom

DataSource Test Connection fails with an error similar to the one below (presentation of the error may be different for different browsers):


Cause

DB2 remote database server is rejecting the connection.

Diagnosing The Problem

You are in presence of this problem if error reported is:

java.net.ConnectException: Error opening socket to server <db2 server> on port <port number> with message: connection refused. ERRORCODE=-4499, SQLSTATE=08001

Resolving The Problem

Contact your DB2 system administrator to resolve the problem from the DB2 perspective. Reference Technote "Connection refused to DB2 ERRORCODE=-4499" in the Related URL section below error -4499 causing the connection to be refused on the DB2 Server.
