Error description
No WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter log messages will be sent to the application server logs despite the logWriterEnabled property being set to true by default. Resource adapter messages will be sent to a separate file mqjms.log. The following error is also generated: [main] JCAMessageBuilder Ignoring supplied logWriter. EXPLANATION: The application server tried to set a logWriter on a ManagedConnection, but the resource adapter has been configured to not use a supplied logWriter. ACTION: If you do not wish to use the application server logWriter, ignore this warning. Otherwise ensure that the logWriterEnabled property is set to true.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This issue affects all users attempting to send WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter logging to an application server log file. Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter (RA) logging was not being directed to a LogWriter object supplied by an application server.
Problem conclusion
Log messages are now sent to the application server log file if the logWriterEnabled property is set to true. Additionally, the default Log implementation has been extended so that if the outputFileName property is set to either "System.err" or "System.out" then log messages will be redirected to that named OutputStream rather than to a file. This allows log messages from the RA and the Java Message Service (JMS) client to be integrated with an application server's console log. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.2 -------- -------------------- Windows U200316 AIX U829807 HP-UX (PA-RISC) U829678 HP-UX (Itanium) U829681 Solaris (SPARC) U829806 Solaris (x86-64) U829680 iSeries tbc_p700_0_1_2 Linux (x86) U829677 Linux (x86-64) U829676 Linux (zSeries) U829682 Linux (Power) U829679 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
