Error description
WebSphere MQ (WMQ) Explorer v7 returns "Publish/Subscribe broker not started" and nothing shows in the list when the 'Topics' node is selected for a v6 iSeries queue manager, even though the Publish/Subscribe broker processes are running. No error messages are written to the WMQ or queue manager error logs.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users of the WMQ Explorer, trying to administer Publish/Subscribe (pub/sub) topics on an iSeries queue manager will experience this problem. Platforms affected: Linux (x86),Linux (x86-64),Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: The WebSphere MQ Explorer was checking if the MQ pub/sub broker was running for a queue manager by looking for the broker process name "amqfcxba". On iSeries, the process names are in upper case. WMQ Explorer was only checking for lower case, hence the search failed and the error message was shown.
Problem conclusion
WebSphere MQ Explorer now checks for the broker process name in uppercase as well as in lowercase. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.1 -------- -------------------- Windows U200310 Linux (x86) U826321 Linux (x86-64) U827231 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
