Error description
Customer has HATS 7.0.0.4 using Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. After input of 3 digits in a field limited to 3 digits, the input data are not sent to the host and the HATS screen is locked. This symptom only occurs with IE, but not with Firefox. However, in Firefox, the user is occasionally seeing an error that says "document.selection has no properties." AutoAdvance is turned on in both cases in HATS, and there is a read-only input field on the page in at least the first symptom.
Local fix
Client did some javascript coding around the first symptom for IE to avoid the problem. For the second symptom, the client claims it doesn't impede their ability to work, but is more of a nuisance to the end user.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users using autoAdvance with readonly * * fields on the rendered screen in the * * browser. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using autoAdvance and the next * * field is readonly the cursor may be * * moved to the readOnly input field. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** autoAdvance incorrectly tries to advance to read-only input fields, which are inoperable for the user.
Problem conclusion
Code was changed in autoAdvance logic to not move to a readonly input field.
