Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: HATS users using code page 420 with English * * text. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When using code page 420 with English * * capital letters are rendered in lower * * case. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When typing english characters into Web visual field CapsLock has no effect, i.e lower case charecters get typed. This problem takes place when "Enable automatic keyboard layer switch" option is checked on 'Other' tab of Project settings wizard.
Problem conclusion
Added code to visualfield Java script to handle 'Enable automatic keyboard layer switch" option when code page is hebrew or arabic that will change keycode to English layer when appropriate. Limitation: This problem has been fully resolved for Hebrew code page but only partially for Arabic code page. When HATS keyboard layer is set to 'English' and system keyboard layer is set to 'Arabic' there is no programmatical way to tell that CapsLock key is activated, therefore this case can't be covered by a code solution. Workaround for limitation: Customers using HATS English keyboard with a system keyboard of Arabic may want to turn off the "Enable automatic keyboard layer switch" option by unchecking this option on the 'Other' tab of the Project settings wizard.
