Error description
Using MQFTE exit function, to output Japanese character in agent's log file under ${MQFTE_ROOT}/<FTE_name>/agents/<agent_name>/logs . However, the Japanese characters are not displayed correctly. . To recreate the scenario, send the output to the log file by adding System.out.println method in exit: "System.out.println("xxxxxx");" ^^^^^^ <= DBCS (Japanese) character. . In the log file, the output character is garbaged. Customer used editbin to check hex code.
Local fix
Problem summary
SUMMARY: Double byte characters destined for the File Transfer Edition event log were treated as single byte chracters. The resultant output in the event log showed twice the number of characters expected with the original naming lost
Problem conclusion
Program corrected to treat log messages as characters instead of bytes.
