Problem
Data Archive or System Backup to Centera fails with error "Failed to authenticate PEA data (-10153)" if IBM Infosphere Guardium was installed using a v9.0p150 iso image from Passport Advantage which was posted prior to April 2014. This document discusses a defect in the v9.0p150 ISO image in Passport Advantage as of April-2014 that affects archive and backup functionality to Centera.
Symptom
You see error similar to the one below in the Aggregation/Archive Log:
File guard_filetransfer.pl in the guard directory on the appliance logs the following messages:
- guard_filetransfer.pl: get transfer method = CENTERA

guard_filetransfer.pl: Starting file transfer.
guard_filetransfer.pl: b

data(-10153)
guard_filetransfer.pl: File transfer ended 22272.
Cause
Known defect with v9.0fp150 iso image in Passport Advantage. Permissions on /var/centera are wrong (must be 777).
Environment
v9.0p150 bundle iso image downloaded from Passport Advantage prior to April-2014.
Note: A corrected iso image was later posted to Passport Advantage after April-2014 that does not have the problem.
Diagnosing The Problem
- You have confirmed Centera Settings are correct
- You have confirmed required ports are open
- Data archive and System Backup to Centera fails with errors shown in Symptom section
Resolving The Problem
Apply patch SqlGuard-9.0p1137.tgz.enc
Make sure also that Centera has been correctly configured as indicated in the documentation and that required ports are opened between appliance and the Centera server.
