Error description

  • Problem type:
Platform - System Setup - Integration

Found (and Reproduced) in Product Version:
Reported and Reproduced in platform 3.5.3.0 version.

    Problem Title:
When user hits enter to change line in description in project,
the export file changes line (CRLF), which causes problem in
    importing local database.

    Description:

Client enters description text in the project record. The text
they enter has CRLF in it to force lines to break where they
want them and/or to create paragraphs in the description. Client
then exports the project record and the description is exported
    including the CRLF characters.

Programs that attempt to import projects from text files may use
tabs as field delimiters and line breaks (CRLF) to determine end
of line/end of project. if the import tries to import a project
record expecting all the content on one line, it fails because
only the text up to the first CRLF is captured and remaining
fields are then out of sync causing the import of records to
    fail.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Go to Tools - System Setup - Integration
    2. Find object named COD - Project GIS - Outbound Integration -
    Export Project GIS
    3. Run Execute
    4. The file, ProjectGIS_MMDDYYYY_HH:MM:SS.PM.txt will be
    exported to SFTP folder
    (/GlobalDir/CustomerFiles/Outbound/GISArchive)
    5. When open the file in text editor, you will see unexpected
    line break.

    Fixed in version:
    Fixed in platform version 3.6.0.1

    Fix Description:
The Integration Object File Outbound scheme has a new checkbox
labeled "Resolve Line Breaks?⠝ When selected, all line breaks
detected for field values being exported are replaced with
    spaces in the exported file.

    Keywords:
    Carriage Return Line Feed

    Work-Around:
Issue has been resolved with TRIRIGA platform version 3.6.0.1
