Error description
Error Message: #PERF: Failed to initialize segment cache of size 1 << 24 . Stack Trace: N/A . N/A
Local fix
Problem summary
The message is printed out when the JIT component of the JVM tries to allocate a 16 MB segment of memory and fails to do so. However, this isn't a functional issue, but just a consequence of the system being memory constrained. The JIT continues on by allocating a smaller segment of memory.
Problem conclusion
The JVM has been updated to not print the message to stdout (see https://github.com/eclipse/openj9/pull/1082 ). . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR5 FP11 (8.0.5.11) . Contact your IBM Product's Service Team for these Service Refreshes and Fix Packs. For those running stand-alone, information about the available Service Refreshes and Fix Packs can be found at: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/
