Error description
Deleting an attachment from a duplicated record also deletes from the original record and from the attachment server. PROBLEM: After duplicating a work order with an attachment, then deleting the attachment from the new work order, the attachment file is gone and no longer works on the original work order. PERFORMANCE ISSUE: No. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1) Goto Work Orders > Work Order Tracking 2) Insert a new work order (make note of the work order number for future reference 3) Fill in all required fields 4) Save the work order 5) Click the Attachments icon 6) Select Add New Attachments > Add New File 7) Select a valid attachment folder 8) Specify a valid file 9) Populate the Name and Description fields 10) Verify the Copy document to the default location set by your administrator (recommended) option is selected 11) Leave the Add document to the document lirary for others to use option unchecked 12) The Print attached document with report if printable type option is optional 13) Click OK 14) Verify you can view the attachment by clicking the Attachments link and clicking on the Document that was just attached 15) Click More Actions > Duplicate Work Order 16) Fill in any required fields 17) Save the new work order 18) Click the Attachments link and verify that you can still view the attachment on the new work order 19) Click the Delete icon to remove the attachment from the new work order 20) Click Yes on the System Message asking Are you sure you want to delete this attachment 21) Click OK to close the View Attachments dialog 22) Search for and display the original work order that was created in Step 2 23) Click the Attachments link 24) Click on the Document that was originally attached 25) Receive error that the document cannot be found 26) Verify in the actual directory where attachments are copied to that the attachment was deleted. CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT: The attachement file is deleted from the attachment server, so any record associated to this file will have a broken link. EXPECTED RESULT: The attachment should not be deleted from the server, so any records associated to this file will have a valid link.
