Error description
When using the current AO-SB self-balancing algorithm of least connections, an uneven load distribution amongst members of an AO group may occur. This APAR adds a configurable option to employ a strict round-robin algorithm.
Local fix
Problem summary
Affected are customers using multiple DataPower appliances with the AO option with self-balanced services in standby groups. For some traffic patterns, the load distribution between the members of the standby group may become uneven. In some cases that may lead to an overloaded group member going out of memory and restarting. The fix introduces new, more stable algorithms for load distribution and weight computation. The algorithms used are configurable now.
Problem conclusion
The fix will be available in 4.0.2.13 and 5.0.0.8. For a list of the latest fix packs available, please see: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21237631
