Is there a limitation on the size of an attachment that can be used in IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) Work Items and, if so, is there a way to modify this limit?
Cause
You would like to include a large attachment in a work item that might exceed any maximum size.
Answer
ANSWER
By default, the maximum size of an attachment that can be added to a Work Item in RTC is 50 MB.
It is possible to modify this limit. However, it is not advisable to go with this unless an overall impact in terms of performance of RTC, network usage and other factors are considered, that doing so might affect.
Here are the steps to modify this limit :
- Login to RTC Change and Configuration Management (CCM) as the admin user using the link:
https://[host_name]:[port]/ccm/admin
- Go to Advanced Properties or use the direct URL:
https://[host_name]:[port]/ccm/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.configureAdvance
- Search for the
com.ibm.team.workitem.service.internal.WorkItemRepositoryServiceentry in Work Item Component
- Edit the Maximum Attachment Size to a required value and save the changes
