Error description
When using the WebSphere MQ Explorer, version 7.1, selecting "Manage filter", the window opens with the "OK" button off the bottom of the screen. The window can be resized to show the "OK" button, but the new size is not remembered the next time the operation is repeatedly.
Local fix
Reduce the size of the dialogue window to show the OK button or increase the display resolution.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Users of the WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.0, 7.1 and 7.5, who are make use of the following functions: - Filters in the WebSphere MQ Explorer Content view - Schemes to change the order of columns in the tables displayed in the WebSphere MQ Explorer Content view Platforms affected: Linux (x86),Linux (x86-64),Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: The issue occurred when a large number of filters had been defined in the WebSphere MQ Explorer, and a request was made to display the filters in order to select one. The dialog box size expanded linearly with the number of entries (the filters) in the list box. In the case where there were too many entries to fit on the screen, the scroll bar was not displayed, and the "OK" button was positioned off the bottom of the screen viewing area.
Problem conclusion
The WebSphere MQ Explorer utilises the 'List' widget of SWT when displaying the filter content. The widget height was not being correctly calculated, causing the problem. The code fix associated with this APAR ensures that a more appropriate calculation is used to define the height of the the List widget, which results in the dialog box being sized to a screen visible size, and that a scroll bar is created automatically when there are more entries in the list than can fit on the panel. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.10 -------- -------------------- Windows U200352 Linux (x86) U853084 Linux (x86-64) U853088 v7.1 Platform Fix Pack 7.1.0.2 -------- -------------------- Windows U200351 Linux (x86) U853049 Linux (x86-64) U853053 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
