Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: Customers putting messages greater than 1MB in size where an asynchronous consumer will receive the message (including client applications getting messages from a channel where the SHARECNV attribute is greater than zero). Platforms affected: All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: When the queue manager tries to deliver a message larger than 1MB directly to an asynchronous consumer a shared memory overwrite occurs with the second large message causing an access violation in the amqzlaa0 process. Depending on the size of the message, the overwrite may cause subsequent failures in the queue manager causing it to end abruptly.
Problem conclusion
The queue manager was changed not to overwrite the shared memory regardless of the size of message being delivered directly to the asynchronous consumer. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.1 Platform Fix Pack 7.1.0.2 -------- -------------------- Windows 7.1.0.2 AIX 7.1.0.2 HP-UX (Itanium) 7.1.0.2 Solaris (SPARC) 7.1.0.2 Solaris (x86-64) 7.1.0.2 iSeries 7.1.0.2 Linux (x86) 7.1.0.2 Linux (x86-64) 7.1.0.2 Linux (zSeries) 7.1.0.2 Linux (Power) 7.1.0.2 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
