Error description
WMQ Explorer plug-in is not displaying properly. After installing plug-in for WebSphere MQ (WMQ) File Transfer Edition (FTE) for v7.0.4.1, some of the columns disappear . The Managed File Transfer - Current transfer Progress only shows Source agent. No other columns. Updating the file com.ibm.wmqfte.explorer\filedialog_settings.xml in the users MQ Explorer temp directory to add "Destination" and restarting WMQ Explorer worked. But on exit, it did not save the changes. Moving the order of the columns did fix the problem. Testing also showed that if this file was deleted, all default columns showed in the WMQ Explorer for Current transfer progress. However, the last column was deleted when exiting and saving the XML file. If the problem occurs when viewing 7 columns, then the seventh time the xml file is loaded, it will be empty.
Local fix
Disable the plug-in or change the order of the columns and save.
Problem summary
When using the IBM WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition plugin for IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer, the column for the "Current Transfer Progress" may disappear. This will happen if the view is not painted more than once. For example, if the WMQ Explorer is started and then immediately exited. If any columns have been moved, the problem will not occur. USERS AFFECTED: All users of the WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition plugin for WebSphere MQ Explorer PLATFORMS AFFECTED: All
Problem conclusion
The code has been altered by ensuring that column information will always be saved. In addition this APAR will detect the problem if it exists prior to installation, and repair the columns by restoring them to their default number and position. | MDVREGR 7.0.4.1-WS-MQFTE-JavaVM-FP001 | The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 7.0.4.2.
