Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ Explorer v7, who attempt to access Publish/Subscribe views or functionality on a queue manager when the PSMODE property of the queue manager is set to DISABLED. Platforms affected: Linux (x86),Linux (x86-64),Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: WebSphere MQ Explorer contains a list of "expected" return codes from the queue manager. When a return code is received, it is checked against this list. A return code reporting an operation has been unsuccessful may still be expected. If a return code is received from the queue manager that is not on this list, WebSphere MQ Explorer will treat this as a serious failure and use the First Failure Support Technology (FFST) reporting mechanism to generate an FDC file logging the error. When a call is made to the queue manager to inquire on publish/ subscribe options and the PSMODE property of the queue manager is set to disabled, the queue manager responds with MQRC_PUBSUB_INHIBITED (0x9e3). This return code was not present in the list of "expected" return codes, and caused the FFST routine to create an FDC file.
Problem conclusion
The list of "expected" return has been updated to contain MQRC_PUBSUB_INHIBITED. This means that WebSphere MQ Explorer does not generate an FDC file when this response is received from the queue manager. The user is still notified via a message inside WebSphere MQ Explorer that the operation could not be completed because PSMODE is set to disabled on the queue manager. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.6 -------- -------------------- Windows U200328 Linux (x86) U841557 Linux (x86-64) U841561 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
