Error description
For every connection happening from XMS, a connection information object was created with Client Channel Definition details. This maintains a pointer to a memory location where the information about channels are maintained. This memory should get released after a successful connection but was not getting released. This issue will be more visible only when multiple XMS connections are created and closed.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere MQ XMS .NET applications using managed mode to connect to a queue manager and repeatedly making connections. Platforms affected: Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: Whenever a connection is made to a queue manager, native memory is allocated to hold the connection information. This was not getting cleaned after each connection.
Problem conclusion
This problem was causing a memory leak in .NET applications and was visible in the native heap of the process. This has been resolved by ensuring that native memory allocated for each connection is freed after connecting to the queue manager. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: v7.0 Platform Fix Pack 7.0.1.4 -------- -------------------- Windows U200323 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
