Error description
In CM 8.3 though, when a user does not have sufficient privileges, a general error code is returned and DM deletes the compound document link in an attempt to delete the document. In order to delete an item, all links must be deleted first. So after the delete failure on the item, DM doesn't know why it failed and tries to delete any links (among other things) and then tries to delete the item again. This does not occur in 8.4.
Local fix
Problem summary
When a user without the ItemDelete privilege attempted to delete a compound document, the delete attempt appropriately failed and the document was not deleted. However, the compound document (cpdoc) links and icons were deleted from the document. Now, Document Manager checks for the ItemDelete privilege before beginning to process a delete request. If the user does not have ItemDelete privilege, the links and icons are not deleted, and the user receives a General Internal Error.
Problem conclusion
The fix is available in DB2 Document Manager v8.3 Fix Pack 10.
