Error description
The reason for the sorting error is because the decimal values are converted to strings for presentation in the desktop view. When the column is clicked to be sorted, the resulting ordering is correctly sorted in ASCII order. However, this issue will still remain for alphanumberic strings which will be sorted in ASCIIbetical order instead of the more user friendly natural order.
Local fix
Problem summary
When users listed decimal values in the Desktop view, and then clicked on a column to sort the view, the numbers were not sorted correctly. For example, the value 100.00 occurred before the value 90.00. The Desktop now sorts decimal values in correct numerical order.
Problem conclusion
The fix is available in DB2 Document Manager v8.3 Fix Pack 10.
