Error description
Error Message: A SIGFPE (Floating Point Exception) error occurs in JIT compiled code on z14 or higher architectures. Other architectures (i.e x86, PPC) and older Z CPUs are not effected by this problem. . Stack Trace: .
Local fix
The problem can be worked around by specifying the Java virtual machine option -Xjit:disableStoreSinking. This may have a small impact program performance.
Problem summary
The Java JIT compiler may perform a late optimization that sinks a store of a node that performs a BinaryCodedDecimal operation. This results in invalid IL as an assumption about the IL is broken. As a result, incorrect code is generated on the Z platform.
Problem conclusion
This problem has been addressed and the JIT Compiler will no longer sink stores of Binary Coded Decimal operations. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR6 (8.0.6.0) .
