Error description
Error Message: remembered-set count can show very large number mistakenly: remembered-set count="18446744073709551598 . Stack Trace: N/A .
Local fix
Problem summary
During percolate GC cycles, when a scavenge is backed out and converted into a global GC, the remembered-set count is not updated correctly, and might be decremented below zero. The value is stored as a 64-bit unsigned integer, so the result of the underflow is a very large positive value. This is a reporting problem only, and does not effect other functionality.
Problem conclusion
The remembered-set count update logic has been fixed to ensure that the correct value is calculated when scavenges are backed out. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR5 FP30 (8.0.5.30) . Contact your IBM Product's Service Team for these Service Refreshes and Fix Packs. For those running stand-alone, information about the available Service Refreshes and Fix Packs can be found at: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/
