Error description
Starting the Backup-Archive client GUI (dsm) or the Backup-Archive client command line (dsmc) may log the following error : "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" The error is logged when the client is started and the icclib085.dll file is missing. This prompts the Windows installer to try and reinstall the missing file which then logs the error. The issue occurs under the following conditions. 1) The IBM Spectrum Protect Backup-Archive client 8.1.6, 8.1.7 or 8.1.8 is installed first. 2) The client's installation folder named "TSMCLI_WIN" is then removed. 3) The IBM Spectrum Protect server 8.1.2 or 8.1.5 is installed. 4) The IBM Spectrum Protect server is then upgraded to version 8.1.7 or 8.1.8. During the upgrade the following file is erroneously removed: "C:\Program Files\ibm\gsk8\lib64\N\icc\icclib\icclib085.dll" 5) The Backup-Archive client GUI or command line is started and the error is then logged. Tivoli Storage Manager and IBM Spectrum Protect versions affected: IBM Spectrum Protect server 8.1.7, 8.1.8 for Windows IBM Spectrum Protect client 8.1.6, 8.1.7 or 8.1.8 when installed on the same machine before a server level 8.1. Local fix
When installing the client and server in any of these combinations on the same machine,install the server first and then install client. If the client has already been installed before the server and then installed server, re-install the client to get the missing file back in place from installation package.
