Error description
When creating a V9.1 queue manager on Windows with automatic startup, for example by using the command: crtmqm -sa <QMgr_Name> the "Startup" attribute in the "InstanceData" stanza of the qm.ini file is set to the value "Automatic". However, this value is not correctly reported in the MQ Explorer. After opening the MQ Explorer, the startup field for MQ Explorer - Content panel in the "Properties QuickView" section under displays "Interactive (manual)" for the startup field.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This issue affects users of the IBM MQ Explorer on Windows platforms. Platforms affected: Windows **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: As of MQ V9.0.1.0, newly created queue managers use a descriptive keyword value for the "Startup" attribute of the "InstanceData" stanza of the qm.ini file. Prior to V9.0.1.0, a numeric value was used. When the IBM MQ Explorer starts, it parses the qm.ini files for local queue manager associated with the same installation in order to display certain queue manager properties. This includes the "Startup" configuration type, which is viewable in the "Properties QuickView" pane of the MQ Explorer - Content page. The MQ Explorer was unable to parse the new keyword values present in the qm.ini files. It only expected a numeric value so was unable to correctly interpret the entries: - Automatic - ServiceManual - HA As such, it default to displaying "Interactive (manual)" for the queue manager startup type which was not correct.
Problem conclusion
The IBM MQ Explorer has been updated such that it can correctly parse the keywords: - Automatic - ServiceManual - Manual - HA that are used as values for the "Startup" attribute of the "InstanceData" stanza in qm.ini files. As such, the IBM MQ Explorer now displays the correct startup type for the queue manager in the "Properties QuickView" pane. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v9.1 LTS 9.1.0.4 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
