Local fix
Passwords of 12 or less characters will continue to work. IBM Cloud demands longer passwords, and no circumvention is possible.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This APAR affects users who use Managed File Transfer File Loggers on IBM MQ LTS Version 9.1, using passwords greater than 12 characters for user authentication. Platforms affected: MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Managed File Transfer(MFT) File Loggers would not use the MQCSP Authentication attribute in the MQMFT Credentials file correctly if the password was longer than 12 characters. So, passwords longer than 12 characters would not work.
Problem conclusion
The Managed File Transfer(MFT) File Logger has been updated such that it allows passwords longer than 12 characters. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v9.1 CD 9.1.4 v9.1 LTS 9.1.0.4 The latest available MQ maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
