Error description
A Spectrum Protect server crashes when the CONVERT STGPOOL command is used to convert a storage pool which contains empty volumes. Additional Keywords: core dump coredump TS001365999 Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect server V7.1 and 8.1 on all platforms.
Local fix
Run the following Spectrum Protect server administrative command : q vol stg=<pool-name> status=empty Replace <pool-name> with the name of the storage pool being converted with the CONVERT STGPOOL command. For each empty volume, run the following Spectrum Protect server administrative command to remove the volume : delete volume <volume-name> Run the CONVERT STGPOOL command after the empty volumes have been removed.
