Problem

Attempts to launch IBM Rational DOORS Web Access components results in the error "No UserDatabase component found under key UserDatabase".

Symptom

The full error message is as follows:

ERROR: org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina - Catalina.start: LifecycleException:  No UserDatabase component found under key UserDatabase

Cause

You have insufficient access rights on Microsoft Windows while running or installing Rational DOORS Web Access.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the issue:

  1. Reinstall Rational DOORS Web Access with the Microsoft Windows local Administrator account

  2. Start the components in the following order:
    • Broker
    • Interop
    • Server
