Error description

  • The version 7.1.8.2 backup-archive client GUI does not start.
Instead, this error message is displayed:

  No JRE found. Please install a JRE version 1.7.0 or above and
  try again. If JRE is already installed on your machine, then
  make sure the PATH environment variable contains path to
  javaw.exe.

The problem occurs after upgrading from an older client version
to version 7.1.8.2.

Local fix

  • Control Panel -> Programs and Features, select "IBM Tivoli
Storage Manager Client", then click "Repair".
