Closed as program error.
Error description
The following error is logged in the Spectrum Protect server activity log : ANR0453W Server to server session refused - no password defined. There is no server to server configuration issue and the error is unrelated. In the case of a Backup-Archive client which was removed from the Spectrum Protect server but the scheduler is left running on the client machine, the ANR0453W error is logged at repeated interval, every 20 minutes when using the default retryperiod client option. The error is logged under the following conditions : 1. There is an unregistered Backup-Archive client or administrator which connects to the server. 2. The client or administrator attempts to connect without the server certificate. Customer/L2 Diagnostics : A server trace (SESSION TCP) will identify the NODENAME in question along with its tcp/ip address. For example : <timestamp> [nnn][smnode.c][26589][SmDoCertQry]: Enter: NODENAME(xxx), entity <timestamp> [nnn][smnode.c][26706][SmDoCertQry]: no password for kdb <timestamp> [nnn][smnode.c][26709][PutConsoleMsg]: ANR0453W Server to server session refused - no password defined.~ <timestamp> [nnn][tcpcomm.c][2609][psSessionThread]: Normal close session with client on socket yy from <IP-ADDRESS>, port <port> Initial Impact: Low Additional Keywords: SP TSM Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect server V7.1.8 and above, V8.1.2 and above, on all platforms. IBM Spectrum Protect client V7.1.8 and above, V8.1.2 and above on all platforms. Both the client and server must run with one of the affected levels.
Local fix
Do not connect to the server with an unregistered client or administrator.
