Error description
The 'RESTORE VM' operation ONLY from Periodic FULL or INCR legacy backup images (as opposed to IFFUL or IFINCR incremental forever type of backups) can complete successfully despite storage pool errors that prevents some data to be restored. This produces a restored VMware guest that is corrupted and for example cannot boot or is missing disk data. Note: The Backup-Archive Client is a prerequisite to using the Data Protection for VMware. In Data Protection for VMware environments, the Backup-Archive Client is also known as the data mover. This problem also affects IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware 8.1.
