Error description
After linking the jdbcdb2 or jdbcora object file on Solaris to the database libraries using the makefile provided by the product, an error occurs when an attempt is made to load the library for use. The error reported is as follows: AMQ6175: The system could not dynamically load the shared library '/var/mqm/exits64/jdbcora'. The system returned error message: 'ld.so.1: java: fatal: relocation error: file /var/mqm/exits64/jdbcora: symbol CSCtrl: referenced symbol not found'. EXPLANATION: This message applies to UNIX systems. The shared library '/var/mqm/exits64/jdbcora' failed to load correctly due to a problem with the library. Listing the library dependencies, for example using the ldd command, results in a similar "symbol not found: CSCtrl" message being reported.
Local fix
When linking to create the database switch load file, update the makefile to link to the mqmcs library as well as mqe.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: This issue affects users who create database switch load files for queue manager JTA/JDBC transaction coordination. Platforms affected: Solaris x86-64, Solaris SPARC **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A configuration error within the environment used to generate the MQ JDBC object files, jdbcdb2 and jdbcora, resulted in additional symbols being incorrectly included. The JDBC object files are only linked with the mqe library, as per the makefile provided by the product, when building the database switch load file which would not permit the additional included symbols to be resolved. As such, at runtime when an attempt to load the library was made, the load failed reporting unresolved symbols.
Problem conclusion
The environment used to build the JDBC object files, jdbcdb2 and jdbcora, has been updated such that the additional symbols that were previously erroneously included are no longer included in the object files. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v8.0 8.0.0.9 v9.0 LTS 9.0.0.4 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
