Error description
"Move container" can cause server to crash if there is insufficient directory space to handle the amount of data to be moved, and therefore is unable to assign a directory for the target container. The activity log will just report the move container command being started before the crash. No error message is seen. Running debugger on the dump file will show (dbx on AIX example): IOT/Abort trap in pthread_kill at 0x900000000578f14 ($t2860383) 0x900000000578f14 (pthread_kill+0xd4) e8410028 ld r2,0x28(r1) (dbx) where pthread_kill(??, ??) at 0x900000000578f14 _p_raise(??) at 0x900000000578764 raise.raise(??) at 0x900000000039be8 abort() at 0x9000000000565e4 PsAbortServer(??) at 0x10001b120 pkAbort(??) at 0x10000c7e0 pkAcquireMutexTracked(??, ??, ??) at 0x1000078d8 SdOpenContainer(??, ??, ??, ??, ??) at 0x10098bc98 SdMoveContainer(0x2a784410, 0x1113d0160, 0x1de16fd80, 0x0) at 0x100a2154c MoveContainerThread(??) at 0x100a1fcb0 Another stack can be seen for this issue. Local fix
Ensure that there is sufficient free space in one of the stgpooldir directories to handle the move container data needing to be processed.
